FAQ

What is SchoolAtomic?
SchoolAtomic is a customizable digital publication platform designed to send student-produced opinion and news articles to anyone who downloads the app to their phone.

How does it work?

Once you decide to work with SchoolAtomic, we personalize the app to fit your school. You or your new team of student journalists can design the logo and name the app. For example, SchoolAtomic’s flagship school app, the Devil’s Advocate, was designed after Ellenville High School’s team mascot, the Blue Devil. After your team has finalized the creative aspect, we take care of its creation and accessibility.

The app can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple app stores, unless you require certain download restrictions. If you don’t want everyone to have access to it, we can help you set up your own distribution system.

Students and their families, teachers and staff of the schools we partner with and the diverse spectrum of readers who will have access to this new reporting on the regional publication platform NewsAtomic, which includes professional news stories from media outlets such as the Shawangunk Journal, Mid-Hudson News, and more. Young and old alike, everyone benefits from an active and engaged community of young people.
